you had only been walking to school when you stumbled upon a crowd. curiosity overtaking you, you maneuvered your way through to see what was the cause of the commotion. you instantly regretted it. there lain a body, covered in a brilliant veil of their own blood and their limbs scattered on the ground. even their guts were torn out and strewn across the pavement, showing signs of being stomped on before having been ripped to shreds. you staggered backwards at the sight, eager to run away as far as you could but frozen by the sight that sent your whole body into shivers. your eyes darted around as you tried to choke out a scream of sorts, anything to alert people of what had happened. it was then that you noticed something odd. around the bend of the corner, there was a young boy standing there and watching the scene with a calm expression. his dreads hung down his back freely with only a few tied up and his clothing reminded you of a training outfit, consisting of only a black wife-beater and black sweats. there would have been nothing odd about him except for the dual scythes in his hands attached together by a lone chain and the color red staining both the scythes & his own body. he had reached up to brush away some of the blood on his cheek with his thumb only to bring it to his mouth and grin when the taste hit his tongue.

no one else seemed to notice him but you. their eyes were only focused on the deceased, wondering what brought upon this mindless killing. you knew though. you wanted to scream & shout but the words did not come to you fast enough. the boy’s eyes turned to you and his grin widened, yet he made no movement towards you. it was then that you realized something terrifying.

you have seen death himself and you are his next victim.
